Question everything.
As a volunteer community builder, I spend about a third of my working time facilitating spaces where thousands of people come together to support each other, grow, and build more ethical and equitable technology together. Right now, my time is spent creating space in Content + UX, a professional support group for around 10,000 content professionals and the UXers who love them, and OpenOakland, an all-volunteer brigade of Code for America that bridges community and technology for a thriving and equitable Oakland.
In my day job as a user experience consultant for nonprofits, I help risk takers and changemakers center their content around the communities they serve. At heart, I believe in subverting the status quo, and I strive to produce work that inspires and instigates power sharing and justice.
