Beschrijving
DXLook is a free, community-driven project that visualizes real-time HF and VHF propagation data for amateur radio operators.
It consists of two sites:
- π dxlook.com β focused on HF propagation, combining data from PSK Reporter, WSPRnet, RBN, DX Cluster, and POTA.
- π‘ vhf.dxlook.com β dedicated to VHF propagation, powered by live APRS-IS packets and real-world signal paths.
Every day, DXLook receives, processes, and displays over 30 million HF reception reports (QSOs) and around 6 million APRS packets β all rendered through interactive, real-time maps.
π Main Views
- Summary β Aggregates propagation by band, showing global coverage areas and activity levels.
- Clusters β Groups individual reports to visualize active regions and SNR intensity in real time.
- MUF β Displays estimated Maximum Usable Frequency zones based on real signal paths.
- Reports β Shows detailed, real-time point-to-point propagation paths between stations.
- POTA β Maps active Parks on the Air activations and their propagation footprints.
- QSO β Lets users upload and visualize their own ADIF log files to see where and how far theyβve been heard.
β‘ Band Conditions
DXLook includes a live Band Conditions widget summarizing current space weather, SFI, K/A indices, and overall HF band openings.
Recently, we introduced Personalized Band Conditions, which adjust band recommendations based on the userβs grid locator, providing a more local and accurate view of real propagation potential.
Your support helps cover hosting, database, and maintenance costs β keeping both DXLook sites online, improving, and free for all HAMs worldwide.
Thank you for helping keep this project on the air! π‘
